Straight baal lock karo! Rock karo!!

There is never a straight road to success. Be it in life or hair care. Being born to a set of parents who stand at the extreme ends of the scale of straight & curly like Maggi hair, I have wavy hair that loves to maintain their

inheritance of both types of hair configuration.

Over the years I have tried every known home remedy to a variety of temporary salon treatments to sport straight hair. The secret behind all the pains I have been enduring to make my hair go straight is the exponential escalation in the number of compliments from none or one to more than the fingers in my hands.

Being gifted with two left hands when it comes to hair styling, my experiments with blow drying & hair irons have been utter failures, ending in painful outcries & outcomes. Besides, the skeptic in me is very worried about using strong chemicals on my scalp & hair even under professional guidance, so permanent hair straightening is a strict no-no for me.

Recently, when Sunsilk launched its Perfect Straight Hair Shampoo, Conditioner & Hair serum range, with the advanced straight-lock technology I was tempted to give the products a shot.  Sunsilk is a trusted & tried brand being used in my household for generations. The range is co-created by Yuko Yamashita.

My first reaction on receiving Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner duo was to flip open the gorgeous purple tubes and smell the fragrance. It smelled like the sweet bubblegum we all grew up enjoying, very pleasant and refreshing notes.

I loved the smooth lather making a small quantity of the shampoo enough to thoroughly clean my hair. Followed by the use of the conditioner, I stepped out of the bath ready to see the technology of straight lock work on my hair. I was patient to not expect a miracle in my first wash, for it was a shampoo created with scientific know how and not a magic potion. But the result was nowhere less than magic.

I decided to follow the recommendation of daily usage to see promised results and delayed reviewing by a few days. Today was the fifth day of my using the shampoo and conditioner duo and I must admit the Sunsilk Perfect Straight shampoo plus conditioner do meet the promises it makes of keeping hair aligned straight as they dry and hair stay so long after they have fully dried up.

The sweet fragrance too lasts through the day and my tresses loved the pampering transformation to silkier, shinier, bouncier, straighter hair.

I’ll be honest that my hair definitely look straighter and the results are comparable to the countless professional hair straightening products I have used till date. However, the effect is most pronounced only on day one.

The results have to be seen to be believed and the recommended regimen followed for best results.

The best part is the convenience of having the power of straightening my curly hair with just a wash, keeping them safe from harsh chemical treatments and also saving time on a day-to-day basis while bagging compliments each time.  A perfect win-win deal for sure.

Price: Shampoo – 56 INR for an 80 ml pack; conditioner 56 INR for a 90 ml pack. With results as good as the ones, I have seen after using Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo & Conditioner at such an affordable price I am definitely going to be saving the money I’d been spending on professional hair care products that could make up for an EMI for a diamond ring over a year’s span.

Rating: 3/5 – I feel using the recommended hair serum along with the shampoo and conditioner would definitely add to the straightening achieved, but the overall straightening isn’t quite in sync with that has been advertised.
