⚠️ 5 Warning Signs Weight Loss Coaching Might NOT Be For You

Look, weight loss coaching isn’t for everyone.

Just like joining a gym or intermittent fasting isn’t for everyone.

So before you go all in, let me shine a light on who is a weight loss coach and what do they do.

Who is a Weight Loss Coach?

A weight loss coach is someone who can help you lose the extra weight to improve your life, feel better, and achieve your goals. You may be wondering, however, what exactly a coach does and what you should expect during a coaching session.

So, why would you need a weight loss coach in the first place? Simply put, coaching helps you identify what’s going on in your own brain.

When you feel unable to get the results you want or feel frustrated with your process of balancing your health, lifestyle and relationship with food to achieve a body weight that keeps you feeling energetic and healthy, coaching is the answer.

A weight loss coach can help you recognize where you’re stuck and show you exactly what needs to change when you can’t see it yourself.

A weight loss coach is like the best friend who will call you out when you’re showing up in a way you don’t want to, give you tough love, and believe in YOU way before you may be able to.

They help you create the exact life you’ve always wanted, powered by a body weight that supports your health and can be comfortably maintained through life.

What Can a Weight Loss Coach Help With?

You can be coached on absolutely anything.

When you decide to work with a weight loss coach, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you get unstuck and start changing your life in ways that will blow your mind.

You’ll start to understand your brain and why you’re doing what you do without having to beat yourself up to make any kind of change.

You’ll discover your true potential and begin to notice amazing results. It will completely change your life.

What to Expect During Your Session?

You’ll be amazed at the clarity, insight, and help you can get from working through your weight problems on a coaching call. Whether you’re being coached directly during a private session or listening to guidance offered by a coach in a recorded lesson, you experience life-changing breakthroughs.

You can bring an infinite number of topics to a coaching session. You may seek coaching when you are ready to overcome any obstacles you are facing to get unstuck and grow to uplevel your life.

How to know if weight loss coaching isn’t for you?

These are 5 warning signs that Weight loss Coaching isn’t for you (This’ll potentially save you time and agony.)

⚠️ Warning sign #1: You’d rather not work hard.

If you think ending stress eating and emotional eating is easy—and you can bring in the bacon without putting in the work of daily planning, assessment, experiencing cravings and urges, overeating despite the best intentions, failing, stalling, regaining, brutal honesty, vulnerability and journaling—this isn’t for you.

⚠️ Warning sign #2: You expect to shed all weight and master your THINKING and maintenance in 30 days.

Starting from scratch and expecting to lose all the physical and mental weight, letting go of the diet mentality and making peace with your body and food in 4 weeks is just crazy thinking…

There’s no weight loss coaching program called

“How to lose diet mentality in 24 hours.” And for good reason.

It’s taken me 12+ years to get to this point. That’s…a long time.

And that’s why I developed my systems. I don’t want to see you go through the same mistakes! (More on that next week.)

Many high-achieving women from all parts of the world, ages and cultures have used my proven system to transform their bodies, adopt new THINKING, lose weight for good and get more successful.

But still—they had two feet on the ground. They didn’t set expectations that they’d just wake up loving their bodies, stop dreading their favourite foods or stop scale scares in 30 days. You shouldn’t, either.

⚠️ Warning sign #3: You’re not coachable

Okay, you shouldn’t take advice from just anybody.

But if you are failing to maintain the lost weight, or are dreading regaining the lost weight despite having lost all the extra weight or can’t stop disliking your body even at your lowest weight or can’t help but eat to relax, de-stress, celebrate or survive life…be open to coaching.

Seek advice from a weight loss coach who has been in the trenchescan save you time, and can help steer you away from catastrophic decisions. Because NO ONE in the health industry, including me and my clients, has succeeded by “going at it alone.” (They’re lying if they tell you that.)

⚠️ Warning sign #4: You’re waiting for motivation.

Think about this quote from Caroll Burnett:

“Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.”

Maybe you work from home or are a professor in college or are a busy doctor or a retiree. Doesn’t matter. Just don’t wait for a muse to show up and inspire you with what YOUR long-term health should look like.

As women, we are conditioned to put everyone else in our lives ahead of us. We are sometimes sparing little to no thought and energy into our well-being. Let alone our long-term health and dreams.

I get it. It’s tough. Yet, I am a living testament to the fact that it can be done without negatively impacting any part of our lives.

Start SMALL. Focus on getting a simple win: getting started on the weight loss journey.

If you’re the kind of person who is going to sit and wait to act until motivation strikes, don’t enrol in weight loss coaching. You’ll just waste time.

⚠️ Warning sign #5: You think you need _______ (insert unnecessary thing).

Newsflash!

You do NOT need these 5 things to start losing weight the way you want to live it:

  • A gym membership
  • A pantry cleaned off of your favourite foods
  • A family ready to jump on the clean-eating wagon with you
  • Spending 2 hours a day working out, prepping and calorie counting
  • “Staying hungry” 24/7 and killing yourself in the process

How to know you’re ready?

If any of these five reasons sound like you, that’s okay. You don’t need to enrol in weight loss coaching—especially if someone told you that you should. Find a way to design your Healthy Life you’re stoked about instead!

On the flip side…

You’re ready to start Weight Loss Coaching if:

  • The idea of working on your long-term health excites you—because you want more flexibility, more energy and control over your eating, emotions, and future.
  • You can weather the emotional ups and downs that’ll come with learning new life skills.
  • You dread your extra weight—or feel stuck—and you’re ready for a change.
  • You don’t need to instantly lose ALL your extra weight. That’s too much pressure. (No one works well under that kind of pressure.)
  • You’re interested in making a move towards making weight loss a part of the big picture of long-term health. More so than spending months trying new diet apps or detox shakes and…not actually maintaining anything.

So, if you’re ready, start small.

And before you pour months of time and thousands of dollars into a weight loss program…decide if you’re ready to make your health a priority (in action, not just thoughts).

Your weight loss can be the foundation of your Healthy Life. Don’t rush it.

I want you to do work that makes you feel energised, fills you up, and feels like part of your Healthy Life—instead of something you have to struggle through every day.

You can change the course of your health whenever you choose. You just have to decide what you want and make a plan to get it.
