The Essential Steps to Break Free from the Cycle of Losing and Gaining the Same Weight

Jessica* is a talented marketing executive who has been battling her weight for over a decade.

To the casual observer, she appears to be a confident, put-together businesswoman. But underneath her crisp blazers and tailored dresses is a woman engaged in a constant tug-of-war with the number on the scale.

Ever since college, Jessica has been riding the roller coaster of yo-yo dieting. She would strictly follow the trendiest low-carb or low-fat plan for months, torturing herself with calorie counting and intense exercise routines.

The pounds would slowly start to come off, and Jessica would feel an initial surge of pride and motivation.

However, the intense restriction would inevitably become too difficult to sustain long-term.

One indulgent meal would lead to a binge, which would spiral into weeks and months of eating with reckless abandon. Jessica’s wild pendulum swings between harsh deprivation and total overconsumption, making it impossible to establish any consistent healthy habits.

The weight would creep back on, sometimes higher than her starting point, leaving Jessica feeling like an utter failure consumed by shame.

But she couldn’t stay in that negative mindset for long before the next fad diet book or program would lure her back in with promises of finally reaching her goal weight.

Over the years, Jessica has spent thousands on expensive meal plans, boutique fitness classes, personal trainers, and even weight loss resorts.

Her bathroom cabinets are graveyards for barely-used supplements, powders, and pills promising miracle results. Her closet bulges with clothes in a wide range of sizes she cycled through constantly.

At work, Jessica is a total professional – organized, articulate, and diligent. But her weight struggle follows her like a dark cloud, impacting her confidence and sense of self-worth. She feels unable to shake the thought that finally reaching her goal weight would be the key to unlocking happiness in all aspects of her life.

“Trust the process ” – people love to say that, don’t they?

There’s value in that ideology…

But we’re also not blind to reality.

We know that when you’re in a moment of crisis…

When you tried your hardest and things still didn’t work out how you wanted…

When your back’s against the wall, and you feel like all hope is lost…

“Trust the process” can feel pretty flimsy.

How can you trust the process when it’s the process that’s causing you so much pain?

If you can relate to Jessica’s struggle with weight, let me assure you, there’s still hope. You can realise your dream of losing the extra weight in a way you can comfortably maintain for life.

But before you make the leap of faith, I’ll share with you a different perspective on your relationship with food.

Today I’m sharing a key tool from the Be Healthy Be You Program– my high-touch, comprehensive, high-performance, one-on-one weight-loss coaching offering for growth-minded women professionals.

Usually, it’s for members only.

But I want you to experience what can happen when you throw out all conventional wisdom around weight loss and try something radically different.

First, have you ever woken up only to lie in bed thinking to yourself about an overeating you recently had:

  • What happened last night?
  • Why did I eat that much?
  • I really gotta figure this out.
  • Maybe I should stop keeping those foods at home for a while.
  • Why is this (temptation around certain foods) so hard for me?
  • I just wish this wasn’t something I had to worry about.
  • This is so embarrassing.

I know how awful these questions feel.

I also know that these questions don’t lead to lasting change.

Sure, they might inspire a period of being “good,” but you know what eventually happens.

Eventually, you wake up to another morning filled with regret.

Teetering back and forth is part of the problem.

To help you solve this puzzle, you need questions that help you see your mind at work:

  • Before I started eating, did I decide how much I would have, or did I just hope I would limit myself?
  • How did I feel about this plan before I started eating?
  • What steps did I take to prepare for the desire to have more and not follow the plan?
  • What excuses came up?
  • Once I broke my commitment, why did I keep going?
  • Why did I eventually stop?

Only by answering questions like these, you can create a roadmap to lasting habit change.

Mastering these tools is a lot faster with a coach by your side. This is primarily because, of their experience and expertise, and the ability to see the situation objectively. A coach can provide an unbiased view, challenge your assumptions, and offer fresh insights that may be overlooked from your own perspective.

Contrary to popular belief, weight loss coaches don’t prescribe fixed meal plans to follow.

Instead, they guide you and help you tap into your inner wisdom by asking meaningful questions that help you transform.

Lasting change in any area of life requires guidance on mindset shifts and behaviour modification, in addition to defining your action plan.

It requires hand-holding in implementing the strategies in the real trying moments of life.

But there is one thing you do need. You need to bet on yourself.

Sometimes, we need a little nudge from someone who believes in us more than even we believe in ourselves.

Someone who can encourage us and guide us.

Someone who’s been there.

We need a push —so that years from now, looking back, we don’t think with regret, I wish I’d at least tried.

I have total confidence you can succeed.

I believe in you because I’ve helped people like you (who feel they’ve tried everything out there to lose weight only to end up regaining all the lost weight) finally lose weight, create their big wins and take strides towards creating the health they always dreamt for themselves.

Even when they didn’t think it was possible.

I don’t want you to defer your dream of wanting to create freedom around food, feel good in your body and make peace with the scale once and for all.

Whenever you feel ready, take the first step to experience the simplicity, flexibility and support offered by the Be Healthy Be You Program by applying here.

You’ll be fascinated by what you’ll experience.
